MORE TASTE, LESS WASTE
Today only 4,2 % of our production ends up as waste. Speaking aquavit language, we're only a couple of drops from zero. The waste consists of mainly packaging materials and the spices used in distillation.
Spice residues from extraction are separated from process water and burnt together with packaging material as a part of the district heating for the city of Sundsvall, where our distillery is located.
All ingredients, sub-products, and final products are stored in the original package or in stainless steel tanks to minimize the amount of waste at the distillery.
Every year we transport our 100 % organic ingredients in bult to lower our CO2 impact. All raw materials are sourced within the EU area, mainly frpm Germany and Finland, Sweden, and Italy. Our main ingredient, caraway, comes from Finland, which is very near and provides the quality we need as caraway grown in the northern part of Europe is oilier.
ACTIONS TO REACH ZERO WASTE IN PRODUCTION:

All ingredients are transported in bulk. 100 % of ingredients are organic. Closures, labels, and bottles are fully recyclable. In 2022 we moved 70cl and 35cl formats to a lightweight botte, reducing 65 tons of glass used in production.
